Into the Light

This is a great video on photography. You should watch it.

The video is by Ibarionex R. Perello who hosts The Candid Frame photography podcast where he interviews photographers. You should check it out as well. I listen to nearly all of them. Recent interviews include Douglas Kirkland and Greg Gorman.

Interview with Copyright Attorney Ed Greenberg

If you have enough interest in photography to be reading this photography blog, then I highly recommend that you watch this terrific interview with copyright attorney Ed Greenberg. I register every one of my pictures with the US Copyright Office, and Mr. Greenberg clearly explains why you are very foolish if you are not doing the same.

Joe McNally video

Google recently invited Joe McNally to give a talk on their corporate campus and the whole talk (over an hour long) is on YouTube for FREE! Joe is an incredible speaker who has seen and photographed an amazing variety of things over a career of 30+ years.

It's funny, inspiring, and worth your time. Go watch it.

Photography Videos

David Hobby of The Strobist blog posted a great video this week of Joe McNally shooting a model in the desert with 7 wireless SB-800 flash units. The hi-res version is 68 megabytes, but it's worth the wait.

Also, while this is old news (in Internet time), Adobe recently launched its Adobe TV site with tons of great, FREE videos for designers, photographers, video heads, and software developers. So turn off the legacy TV and watch Adobe instead.

Also, if you are interested in studio lighting there is a GREAT eight-part video series on YouTube by UK photographer Ken Henderson. It's really informative and entertaining as well. Ken is a great teacher.

Virtual Studio Tour

Whether in person or online I'm always fascinated with seeing photographer's studios. It's always neat to see how other photographers have their work environment setup, how their studio lights are arranged and what kind their using, what their digital darkroom looks like, etc. Jim Talkington of Daylight Photo has posted yet another great video giving you a behind the scenes tour of his studio. Check it out.

Intro Product and Still-life Photography Video

For anyone wanting to try some do-it-yourself product or still-life photography, this is a great video from Jim Talkington of Daylight Photo studio in Cincinnati. It also shows you why you need to start assembling a "stick in a concrete bucket" collection:
